Here Comes Trouble...

Yes, its true...we have unofficially renamed Jacob ---Trouble...
My day at home began as any day..Jake woke a bit earlier than usual but stayed in his crib until almost 7. (I later found that Jake cut a tooth overnight!) Ben woke coughing about 6:45. We all got dressed and headed downstairs for breakfast. Both boys had toast! It was Jakes first time eating whole wheat bread and cream cheese and he loved it! Actually, Ben ate three pieces of toast with butter today. Ben went to school and after we had lunch, the boys played in Ben's room with his most favorite GEO-TRACKS

We had an 'ear check' appointment for Ben at the doctor. He told the nurse that Jake ate dirt off the kitchen floor (which he did)! Trouble also climbed up on the bottom (glass) part of our table in the foyer to get a hold of a snowglobe (shich will be removed!).

Bathtime is always a race..Here is a pic of Jake working his way in the bathroom..needless to say, he was having so much fun he ended up peeing and was amazed by all the liquid on the floor. (I didn't realize he peed until after I took this pic)...

That's right..Jake gets up on flat hands and flat feet.

i try to distract Jake with a toys while i quickly wash Ben. While Ben was waiting to go into a bath i went to make Jakes bottle. When i came back upstairs (three minutes later) Jake was standing up and leaning over the toilet (Ben must have gone potty and left the lid up). Then he got into the garbage. Clearly, we will be babyproofing the potty (something we never needed to do for Ben).

So Trouble it is.... i even caught him gnawing on TV wires today..we are in babyproofing mode!

Moving Forward

As we stay bundled from the cold weather, Ben and Jake are enjoying themselves inside. They are even getting along.

Jake still has two teeth on the bottom and one on top but there are some more that will poke their way through on top. He:
is starting to wave!!
is starting to crawl
is obsessed with opening and closing doors
is in love with feeding himself
(banana, avocado, cereal, and blackbeans) - but we will be starting cheese and chicken this week..then pancakes, waffles and on and on.
Jake will be walking in no time. He loves standing!

Ben is learning to accept that Jake is mobile. He says
"Jake Gets Into Everything"
Both Ben and Jake are starting gym classes in February. It should be a good outlet for them during the rest of the winter.

Here's a pic of Jake tonight getting into trouble!

On The Move

Jake is mobile!! He gets into everything and wants whatever Ben has. Ben often asks us to move him or put him in the pack and play (jail) so Jake doesn't get his stuff. WE are telling him to get used to it!
Here's some footage from this morning of Jake checking out what Ben is up to! He loves his big brother....

While Ben is being the model big brother, Jake is dancing! We caught that on video too (not posted here). He bounces up and down. He's getting big!

Mr. Independent

Ben dressed himself this morning. I went in the other room to finish getting dressed and this is what i came back to

notice the different color schemes and patterns going on... he's a real natural. In other news, we are working on matching. We played Dominoes this morning.

Jake is having a growth spurt and teething. His first top front tooth broke through this morning, making it a total of three teeth. We also set up some of his holiday toys. He can pull himself to a stand.. He is very mobile so we have to close the gate at the top of the steps. Steve is going to get new gates for the downstairs. We are babyproofing in full force..Much more than we ever did with Ben.

Happy New Year!

We had a great time with Shari, Andrew and Spencer. They came last night and we all had a sleepover. After the kids went to bed we watched the ball drop in Times Square while sipping Dom Perignon. We are all very sleepy today because kids don't know that today's a day meant for sleeping in!
