Kitchen and Baths

We are taking full advantage of cold November mornings. Today Ben helped mommy bake chocolate lace cookies for a cookie exchange she is doing with her mommy friends. He used the mixer and peeled the wrappers off the butter. We will put chocolate between the cookies later..yum.

Jake is too big for his bath so we are switching to the bath seat..our baby is growing :(. I put him down on the floor sitting up and he sprinkled the carpet (and i got it on camera but too risque to blog so i'll email you all separately!). Don't you just love this tush??

Thanksgiving Preview

While Ben is getting ready for his Thankgiving Feast at Nurery school, Jake is trying on his (actually Ben's) wardrobe to see what fits. This may be our Turkey Day outfit but it will have to do for today's playdate with the ladies. Check out the elbow patches..too cute!

New Milestones and updates

Jake is doing great sitting up! He can sit by himself (after we put him there) playing with his toy (or Ben's - seen here). He'll tip over if he gets tired or too distracted but he is great at entertaining himself! We decided to dis-enroll Jake in swimming class. Today he has a cold so he didn't make it but in general, its during his NAP time...yep, that's right..who knew he would eventually develop the morning nap! Ben is going to be the next Micheal Phelps. Today he learned to float! Next session we will probably enroll him in private lessons if he is still interested. I think the other kids are holding him back :)

Jake's first tooth peaked through earlier this week. It is sharp.. He is learning to use a sippy cup..here's a short clip:

Bumper Bowling

We had a blast. Ben was so excited to put on his bowling shoes. He had his own ball and scored an 86. The bumpers were up and he was able to throw the ball all the way down the alley.



Then we found a contraption that helped a bit!

swimming

Today was the first swimming classes for the boys. Ben was soooo excited to get right in (no fear). First he pointed out all the 'alarm lights' or as we call them, fire alarms in the building. This has become his new obsession. There are three others in the swim class. He learned to 'scoop' the water like ice cream to do the crawl stroke, blow bubbles and 'listen' to the water and kick forwards and backwards. He also jumped in!

Jakes class was next. He also loved the water. He actually stuck his face in the water - and took in some. We had to remind him not to drink it.


It was a long week. Daddy was in Orlando playing business. We kept busy doing activities...here is one of Ben painting a watercolor masterpiece. Note the beautiful flowers that Daddy sent Mommy :)

TMX Elmo

Jake has found a new love..ELMO. He has an Elmo in the bath and just loves Ben's TMX ELMO. We thank Ben for letting Jake borrow it. Check out our video.

Badger Fans and Election Day

Ben had a blast learning about the election process. At school, he voted for Oreos and not Hershey's Kisses. I believe Oreos won the election. He knew the candidates and told us he was really voting for Obama, despite Daddy's protests.

At grandpa rick's request, a photo of the boys was taken with their Wisconsin gear on. We'll get 'em next year though...this season is not their best.

Halloween Weekend

What a weekend. Halloween was tons of fun. Jake was a pea in the pod and Ben was a 'happy' pirate. Grandma Judy visited and we had lots of fun. We headed to Long Island b/c mommy and daddy had a wedding out at a winery on the North Fork. Sunday (today) Ben enjoyed bumper bowling! He scored an 86!! (pics of that to follow at some point!).
